As I let out a yelp, Sidekick (Shannon’s cat) rolled over and gave me a playful kitten purr. I like to think that he was feeling bad for giving me such a scare and so decided to help straighten up my room. But in reality I think he was on a mission to examine everything that I had brought into his country. The winning moment was when he turned over my toothbrush and gave it a big lick… I hope that isn’t a common Canadian airport security technique.
I was going to finish this post with my last comment about airport security but then the next day I came home to find this…
I had gone out for a run in the morning and came back to discover Cona, the lovable golden retriever/border collie, searching through my room. He was then joined a couple of minutes later by his best friend Sidekick, AKA yesterday’s curious culprit. Together they investigated every nook and cranny of the room until they were fully satisfied that there was nothing untoward and then proceeded to chase each other up and down the hallway.
After meeting lovely Cona I knew that the rest of my afternoon was set in stone. I was officially helping Shannon move furniture but in truth I spent my time playing with Cona whilst Sidekick looked on half-amused.
I have come to the conclusion that even the Canadian animals are super friendly. I’m not usually a fan of big pets (due to allergies) but these guys are so good-natured. And the best part is that Cona looks just like the dog from Up. SO CUTE.
